The two-finger keyboard improvisation utilizes a new app developed by Mays, which harmonizes from the top down, choosing voicings from a user-created data base, which in this case contained less than a dozen chords. Once a key is held down, the app ignores other key presses, so counterlines can be added without triggering chord-on-chord cacophony. The user also sets the Midi trigger range. Midi notes above or below that range are ignored.

This is not "smart" software. It doesn't attempt to compose. The key to using it is twofold. First design a cool data base of chord voicings, then practice with it, like any instrument, to learn what that data base can and can't do.
